Was awesome.
Everything was great. Our cosplay pairing as Samejima Mamimi and Haruhara Haruko was pretty popular. We had our pictures taken many times, posed with people, and met a lot of interesting people. I even had a girl randomly run up to me and exclaim "Can I buy you as my girlfriend?" (She was a big Mamimi fan) I was sooo very tempted to ask her 'How much?'but sttle for a "You have excellent gaydar." I was really flattered by the whole ordeal and it certainly gave me an ego boost. I bought a Cloud Strife figurine, but alas, my quest for tentacle gloves proved fruitless for today. If you have no idea what I'm talking about [link]

I saw and met a lot of really impressive and amusing cosplayers. But my top priorites are Man Faye [link] , Lionelle from thunder cats, and Hard Gay, whom I've already found.

Anyways, onto the pictures!


A head shot of my character, Mamimi from Fooly Cooly. (this was later in the day so my make-up was a bit worn off) I didn't take many pictures of myself.


A full body shot of my outfit. I skimped out on sewing on a collar after sewing a star on my shirt. I now officially hate sewing with A PASSION!


My friend Alysse, as Haruko. We found the eyebrows guy and pulled him over for a picture. A couple of people crowded around to take pics, so there might be others out there. but yes, my partner in crime worked hard on getting practically everything right for her outfit. It was the most accurate one we've come across so far.

Sanji, from One piece. His eyebrow is made from his own hair and curled and pasted with spirit gum. This guy came all the way from Illinois! He was really cool, we spent some time chatting with him along with two girls from Pennsylvania cosplaying Zero and Kaname from Vampire knight. hopefully we'll see them all again tomorrow.

And last but not least...

This guy was great. He was sitting down when I asked for a picture, and he kindly stood up a struck a pose for us

This is my first convention, I feel so damn virginal. I went to pick up my badge on Day Zero, and fuuck the lines were long! My friend and I had to park 4 blocks away from the convention center. After waiting in the back of the line for 15 minutes we realized we were gonna be there a while... And that's when we also realized we only put 40 minutes into the parking meter...

So, I left my friend to wait in line, while I ran about a mile distance from the lobby to the parking meter in the sun and cowboy boot no less. When I reached the car, the meter only had 11 minutes left.

After putting more time, I walked back, sweaty and limping. I decided to replenish myself with a nice bottle of coke at one of the vending machines at the lobby. Unfortunately, after putting a dollar into the machine, I notice the sodas are $3 dollars each! Heeeeeell no! I only have a dollar on me! I tried getting my dollar back, but the machine decided to be a cheap bitch and keep the last of my money for the day T^T

When I finally got back to the lobby to find my friend and pick up the badge, the line surprisingly only moved a few measly feet. My toe was bleeding, I was sweaty, dehydrated, and broke. But my friend, being the kind and generous soul she is, bought me two cans of coke to make up for all of my trouble.

The lessons of today's story are:

1. Fill up the parking meter as much as you can when you're not sure how long something will take.

2. Wear comfortable shoes.

3. FUCK thieving vending machines.

Still Alive!


So, without noticing I crossed over to another page view hit... 6,000...wow.

Thanks everyone! *bows deeply* Owww, my back.

I'm currently working on some drawings at the moment, so hopefully at least one of them will be up by the end of the week. It's going to be a combo for the 6k and Chinese new years (late, but oh well), AND it's going to have a paired drawing to go along with it, which will probably be done by next week. I think I'm going to dedicate that one to the page views.

In other news I'm just barely introducing myself to the whole CSS journal thing, thanks to the wonderful people that create them for public usage. Thank you =blissart
